Bastia
Creti is situated in the Upper Tiber valley in the northernmost part of Umbria,
an area which has an extraordinarily rich cultural heritage as well as lovely scenery.
It is bounded by Le Marche to the east, with the starkly
beautiful Apennines separating the alluvial plains of the Tiber from the cities of
Urbino and Cagli, and the Adriatic coast.
To the west, Lake Trasimeno and the famed vineyards of Tuscany
lie beyond a gentler range of mountains.
It is an ideal location for the driving enthusiast, with some spectacular mountain
roads and little traffic - red lights and queues are a rarity here - and for those
interested in art and architecture there are many ancient towns with lovely churches
and some fine art galleries.
